Announced by the companies first official hire, Alayna Cole, earlier today, Sledgehammer Games is opening a new studio in Melbourne.
Following the existence of a small engineering team locally for the last few years, Sledgehammer Games looks to be ramping up its presence in the region through the establishment of an official games studio to be based in Melbourne.
Sledgehammer is most popularly known as one the development team behind Call of Duty WWII, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
No official announcement beyond Alayna’s reveal has been made as of yet, but we hope for this to be the beginning of a new chapter for Sledgehammer Games locally.
Hey heeeeey, look what I was allowed to announce at my #NZGDC19 talk, and now on social media!
You’re looking at the first official hire at @SHGames Melbourne! I am so excited to say I will be starting there as a producer on Monday, and helping to grow our studio in my new home. pic.twitter.com/p6e5E6aFma
